KA152 · Youth Exchanges

Young people from different European countries come together to share a non-formal learning experience: workshops, discussions, and local activities.

What Are Youth Exchanges?

Youth exchanges are one of the cornerstones of the Erasmus+ program. Groups of young people between the ages of 13 and 30, from at least two European countries, come together to spend 5 to 21 days participating in activities centered on a common theme: the environment, citizenship, inclusion, culture, or sports.

This is not a study vacation. Learning happens through hands-on activities: workshops, role-playing games, debates, field trips, and intercultural evenings where each group shares information about their country. The approach is based onnon-formal education: participants don’t just listen—they help design the program together with the educators.

With Sinodía, groups are supported at every stage, from preparation before departure through to their return. Whether the exchange takes place in Salento or in another partner country, every young person returns home with new skills, friendships across Europe, and the Youthpass certificate, which recognizes what they have learned.

Who can participate? Young people between the ages of 13 and 30, with a special focus on those who have fewer opportunities to travel and gain experience abroad.
