Greeks, Byzantines, Normans, Aragonese, and Ottomans have all passed through here, leaving behind a city that is a unique blend of cultures, now recognized by UNESCO as a Messenger of Peace Site.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">On this tour, we\u2019ll guide young people through the streets of the old town: from the walls overlooking the sea to the Cathedral, which houses one of the most extraordinary treasures of the European Middle Ages\u2014the 12th-century \u201cTree of Life\u201d floor mosaic\u2014 800 square meters of stories, figures, and symbols that the students can literally walk through with their own feet. Each stop becomes an opportunity to observe, ask questions, and connect what we\u2019re studying with what\u2019s right in front of us: art, but also history, geography, and the encounters (and clashes) between civilizations that this city has experienced firsthand.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Otranto\u2019s history does not shy away from its difficult chapters: the siege of 1480 and the story of its eight hundred Martyrs, enshrined in the cathedral\u2019s chapel, prompt the students to reflect on the Mediterranean as a place of conflict but also of dialogue\u2014a theme that could not be more relevant today.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">The tour is tailored to the age and interests of the group, ranging from middle school students to college and international groups, and for foreign groups, it is also conducted in English. It\u2019s paced just right, with breaks and time to explore: because a city like Otranto isn\u2019t just something to be explained\u2014it\u2019s something to be
