The history of
"Il Villino"
A story of family, passion, and continuity, built over time in Santa Cesarea Terme through hospitality, Mediterranean cuisine, and an authentic bond with the local area.
Since 1982
The history of Il Villino began in 1982, within a historic residence once used as a summer home.
Over the years, Il Villino has consolidated its character through clear values: quality ingredients, attentive service, a bond with the sea and the land of Salento, and a commitment to offering an authentic and recognizable experience. A story that continues to live on today, with the same soul and care that have made it special from the very beginning.
- Since 1982 in Santa Cesarea Terme
- Authentic family management
- Mediterranean tradition and quality
- A strong bond with the local area
- Experience built over time
- A look toward the future
From the beginning, this place has distinguished itself through its ability to combine the beauty of its surroundings, thoughtful hospitality, and a high-quality experience, becoming over time a recognizable and beloved presence in Santa Cesarea Terme.
This identity has been shaped by family management built day after day with presence, dedication, and tangible passion. Albino and Rosanna, together with their sons Augusto and Giuseppe, have carried Il Villino forward with the continuity that only a truly lived-in reality can convey. It is precisely this family dimension that has made Il Villino more than just a restaurant: a place capable of building relationships, memories, and trust over time.
We went as a group with friends. We ordered seafood appetizers, seafood linguine, shrimp and lemon risottos, and finally lemon sorbets. High-quality fish and very kind waiters. It is a regular stop for us which, combined with the spectacular high coastline, invites us to return.
Seaside restaurant with a breathtaking view, very refined, extremely fresh fish cooked excellently and served impeccably by the staff; highly recommended.
After 28 years of marriage, we returned to Il Villino to eat, and I must say everything was as excellent as it was on that day. Thank you.
Excellent experience! The food is great, fresh, and high quality, with truly competitive prices.
The location is spectacular: having lunch on the sea-view terrace was unforgettable. The staff is kind, welcoming, and always available.
I will definitely be back!
Eating excellent fish with a 180° view of one of Puglia's most beautiful seas is truly the best!
Elegant restaurant directly overlooking the sea. An intimate and romantic atmosphere.
The seafood linguine and the house appetizer were delicious. Recommended.
Il Villino never disappoints.
A wonderful place, with wonderful people and exquisite food.
Omar's attention to customers is rare!
Thank you so much for a lunch that was nothing short of wonderful.
Fabulous dinner with friends, very good food and excellent service, generous portions. We dined on the terrace overlooking the sea, fantastic. Very convenient parking.
A must-try!! Breathtaking view from the terrace and exceptional food. Authentic Italy!!! We will definitely return on our next trip to Puglia.
Il Villino is not just part of the Santa Cesarea Terme landscape: it has always interpreted its character, light, rhythm, and authentic relationship with the sea. Its history is intertwined with that of a unique location in Salento, in which the landscape is not a backdrop, but a living presence that accompanies every experience.
Over time, this bond has translated into a specific way of understanding hospitality. At Il Villino, the local area is not simply described, but lived through the cuisine, the atmosphere, the sensitivity to detail, and the desire to offer guests an experience capable of truly reflecting the identity of the place.
The strength of Il Villino also lies here: in having been able to grow while remaining faithful to a clearly recognizable root, without chasing artificial formulas, but rather safeguarding the value of what is authentic. For this reason, its history is also the story of a consistent and deep relationship with Santa Cesarea Terme and with the truest part of Salento.
